VPR™ is a reactivated carbon. Reactivated carbons are produced by reacting spent (used) coal-based and coconut shell activated carbons with high-temperature steam under rigidly controlled conditions. Reactivation removes adsorbed contaminants and restores activity to near-virgin levels. Reactivated carbon is a recycled product with a lower carbon footprint than virgin-activated carbons. Continental Carbon Groupn is the world’s leader in reactivation technology and recycles millions of pounds of waste-activated carbon annually. VPR™ is a good choice for a wide range of vapor-phase contaminates across many indoor air applications. The standard mesh size is 4x10, but custom sizes are available upon request. In many cases, the spent (used) VPR™ can be recycled again to eliminate the generator’s waste liability.

Safety Message

Activated carbon preferentially removes oxygen from air. In closed or partially closed containers and vessels, oxygen depletion may reach hazardous levels. If workers are to enter a vessel containing carbon, appropriate sampling and work procedures for potentially low oxygen spaces should be followed, including all applicable Federal and State requirements.
