TITAN HIGH FLOW SYSTEM

Titan Range

The TITAN™ odor-control system is a cost-effective alternative to conventionally activated carbon adsorber designs. TITAN™ uses carbon in a radial flow system that is significantly smaller and less expensive than traditional deep bed adsorber designs.

Titan Georgia

TITAN™’s revolutionary airflow design allows the system to process contaminated air at a much faster velocity than ordinary deep bed systems. TITAN™’s design allows it to be one-half to two-thirds the footprint of an equivalent deep bed system. Standard deep bed vessels have a maximum airflow capacity of about 20,000 cfm before being too large to transport as a single system while the largest single TITAN™ vessel (the T120) not only has a smaller footprint, but also can treat 32,000 cfm, with greater airflows possible as custom systems.

While there are other radial flow odor-control systems in the market, the TITAN™ design has been carefully engineered so that you can be sure you are getting the performance you desire. The TITAN™ was designed using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to ensure that uniform airflow distribution can be achieved through the annular carbon bed. CFD results have been validated by tracer study tests. The isometric view below shows the flow streamlines through the vessel. The color chart can be used to determine the velocity (ft. min.) of the streamlines. The CFD model shows that streamlines are evenly distributed, which indicates uniform flow distribution and relatively uniform carbon use.

Flexibility

With multiple carbon adsorber technologies, Barnebey Sutcliffe is uniquely capable of integrating two or more technologies to solve any contaminate problem. For example, a TITAN™ can be combined with a PHOENIX® system for the removal of odorous organic sulfur compounds such as carbonyl sulfides and dimethyl sulfide at efficiencies greater than 99%.

Applications

TITAN™ is ideally suited for emission applications to eliminate odors and meet EPA requirements. This includes removing hydrogen sulfide (H2S), the most prevalent odorous compound present in refineries, asphalt plants, mines, pulp and paper mills, textile production, leather tanneries, and waste disposal applications. When filled with our patented CENTAUR®-HSV water regenerable catalytic activated carbon, TITAN™ is effective against moderate levels of H2S as well as odorous organic sulfur compounds such as methyl mercaptans and dimethyl disulfide. For applications that do not involve H2S, the TITAN™ can be filled with one of our other activated carbons for a host of other contaminants.

TITAN™ is available on standard T90, T110, and T120, which can be provided in a variety of heights for ultimate design flexibility. Custom sizes and flow rates are also available.

For applications other than continuous operation at the design airflow rate, contact Barnebey Sutcliffe Corporation for review and recommendation.

Safety Message

Activated carbon preferentially removes oxygen from air. In closed or partially closed containers and vessels, oxygen depletion may reach hazardous levels. If workers are to enter a vessel containing carbon, appropriate sampling and work procedures for potentially low oxygen spaces should be followed, including all applicable Federal and State requirements.

Limitations of Liability

Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary herein, in no event shall Supplier or its contractors or suppliers of any tier be liable to Purchaser for any indirect, special, consequential, incidental or punitive damages as a result of a breach of any provision hereunder or for any other claim of any kind arising out of or relating to this document, whether in contract, in tort (including without limitation, negligence or strict liability), indemnification or otherwise. Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary herein, for all losses, damages, liabilities or expenses (including attorney’s fees and costs), whether for indemnity or negligence, including errors, omissions or other acts, or willful misconduct, or based in contract, warranty (including any costs and fees for repairing, replacing or re-performing services or curing a breach hereof), or for any other cause of action (individually, a “Claim”; collectively, “Claims”), Supplier’s liability, including the liability of its insurers, employees, agents, directors, and officers and all other persons for whom Supplier is legally responsible, shall not, to the maximum extent permitted by law, exceed in the cumulative aggregate with respect to all Claims arising out of or related to this document, the total amount of compensation paid to Supplier hereunder. All Claims of whatsoever nature shall be deemed waived unless made in writing within forty-five (45) days of the occurrence giving rise to the Claim.
